Our mission

We care about the substance of politics and we seek its return to its founding purpose: solving the problems of the citizen, of society, of the economy and of our nation.

Today and in the future, more than ever, it is essential to connect politics with knowledge, with thought and also with reflection — with critical reconsideration. Our mission is to enrich public discourse and politics in Cyprus with the contemporary achievements of science, as well as with the experience and knowledge that liberal policies and reforms have deposited in the collective acquis of the Western world.

We seek to spread among the community of active citizens the connection of politics with knowledge, with the aim of defeating empiricism and populism — that is, ideological illiteracy in the public life of our homeland.

How we will act

Think Cyprus will fulfil its mission across many dimensions:

• By organising forums and conferences in cooperation with research institutions and think tanks from Europe.
• By commissioning scientists and experts in Cyprus and abroad to prepare studies on the problems of the Cypriot economy and society.
• By disseminating research findings through print and electronic publications, public presentations and educational seminars.
• By ensuring that young scientists from Cyprus take part in all of our initiatives. The new generation is the great hope for the rebirth of our homeland and the renewal of politics through rationalism, science, thought and the dialogue of ideas.
